Editing Images: How To Start Learning With Your Computer

One of the great things that has happened in our time is the advancement of digital photography. Digital cameras have often produced images which are quite good, but not to the extent of perfection. That is why an image software, which is sometimes packaged along with the purchase of a digital camera, allows us to edit and enhance our images the way we want. Image editing has indeed become the art of photographic printmaking in which a snapshot can be turned into a well-crafted work of art.

Managing Images

If you're still new with image editing, you don't necessarily have to learn everything from the start. It takes practice, a little skill, and a lot of patience. In managing your images, you have to make an association scheme for you photo galleries. Once done, you can safely start editing them one by one in your computer. Rotating, cropping, resizing, adjusting the color, contrast and brightness are the basic functions that will significantly improve your pictures.

Rotating

When you try to get a shot of a tall building, naturally, you will flip your camera vertically. However, as you transfer it to your computer, it will show the whole building but it's not standing up. To display an image with tall things, simply locate and position your mouse over a 90 degree rotation button and click it.

Cropping

Cropping allows you to eliminate distracting parts of an image, alter its aspect ration, and compose your picture. To crop a picture, simply click the cropping button then go over to your picture and position your mouse on the part where you want to crop. Click and drag the mouse to form a specific area that will remain intact. Once you right click the mouse, choose the word crop.

Resizing

Resizing is another basic function that will either make your image bigger or smaller. To resize a picture, go to the edit menu and select image size and perform the necessary measurements of your image.

Adjusting Color, Contrast, And Brightness

Thanks to the influence of computer-aided image editing, you can control the way your image looks by adjusting its color, contrast or brightness. To make the necessary adjustments, go to the windows image menu and select the adjustments. Simply choose the one that will change the way your image will look.

With all the wonders of being able to edit an image, it's no wonder most of our pictures we often see in magazines, posters, etc. seems so flawless. Thanks to all these things, it has allowed most of us to enjoy and edit the way we want our pictures to be seen.
